Training
During your Breakaway training vacation, world-class coaches will instruct you on everything from proper running form and pacing to nutrition and injury prevention. You will learn to tackle hills and practice your pacing during a practice 5k run. Instruction is not limited to running. Participants will learn the importance strength training, stretching, and cross training.
La Roche accommodationDuring one-on-one sessions with the coaches, each participant will receive a personalized training schedule, including target pace for long runs, speed workout recommendations, and suggested races to participate in while preparing for your marathon.
Coaching support does not end after the trip. We are a resource for all participants throughout the entire marathon training experience. Through email communication, coaches will provide training support, refine personalized training schedules as needed, and answer any marathon questions. They will coach each participant until he or she crosses the finish line.
Relax
During your Breakaway training vacation, you'll have plenty of time to rest, relax, and refresh. Running is only half of the marathon training experience on this vacation. Just as important is the time spent letting your body and mind unwind and prepare for the next set of challenges. What to do in your downtime is up to you. Stay active with hiking, golf, sight-seeing, or other outdoor activities. Or if true relaxation is your ultimate goal, indulge in spa treatments or simply lounge poolside.
Luxury
Our team focuses on identifying luxury accommodations at each of our training destinations. Each resort takes full advantage the area's unique surroundings. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa offers beautifully appointed rooms, a newly renovated spa, and an 18-hole golf course. It is perfectly situated just a short drive from the historic Sonoma Plaza, many of the region's top wineries, and the area's best hiking locations. The Enchantment Resort in Sedona is nestled between the red rocks of the magical Boynton Canyon, one of the most beautiful places in the Sedona area. The resort itself is a luxurious haven for relaxation, rejuvenation, and exploration, offering contemporary southwestern décor and breathtaking surroundings. And Casa Madrona, located on the hillside in Sausalito, CA. enjoys magnificent views of Richardson's Bay and Belvedere Island.
