   Answers . . .
Why do I get an "Invalid username or password" error when trying to connect to the Internet?
Make sure the Caps Lock is NOT on. The username and password should be typed in all lowercase. Also check that only your username is in the username field and NOT the entire email address.

Why do I get an error saying there is no dial tone when I try to connect?
Make sure all your line cords are plugged in properly and make sure the phone jack is in working condition. (You may want to plug your telephone into the jack to see if there is dial tone)
-If you have voicemail there may be a delay on the phone line, which won't allow the computer to dial. If this is the case, check and remove the voicemail messages.
-If you have call waiting, there also may be a slight delay on the phone line.
To disable call waiting:
Windows 95/98:
-Double-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop, then click the Dial-Up Networking icon.
-Right click on the KCTC connection icon and go down to properties.
-Type *70 before the KCTC number (656-4100) to dial.
Windows 2000, ME, NT, XP:
-Double click on the Dial KCTC Internet icon on the desktop.
-Enter *70 before the number to dial (656-4100).
-Click "Dial" and then click "Yes" to make the phone number change permanent.

How do I know if my modem is working?
You may check your modem to see if it responds. In most cases this will tell you whether or not your modem is working properly.

For Windows 98
-Open the Control Panel and double-click the Modems icon.
-Click on the Diagnostics tab at the top and then select the
modem your computer is using.
-Click on the More Info button.
-Your computer will try to communicate with the
modem.
If the next window opens with responses from your modem,
it should be in working condition.
-Click OK on the remaining dialog boxes.

Windows 2000/ ME/ NT/ XP
-Open the Control Panel and click on the Phone and Modem Options icon.
-Click on the Modems tab and select the modem your computer is currently using.
-Click the Properties button which opens a new window.
-Click on the Diagnostics tab at the top and then click the Query Modem button at the bottom.
-The computer will try to communicate with the modem. If the modem shows commands and responses; your modem should be in working condition.
