hoteles economicos SkopjeIn 1932, when the Wisconsin School Music Association was formed, its purpose was to sponsor and coordinate music contests in Wisconsin. Thus, in its early form, the Association filled what was considered to be missing in school music programs - contests and subsequent ratings between schools, ensemble, and individual participants.

Over the years, however, the focus of WSMA has grown and expanded from contests where ratings were the most important, to providing programs that emphasize an educational experience as students support each other on the road to excellence. Over 200,000 students in WSMA member schools choose to participate in a variety of WSMA programs including: Music Festivals, State Honors Music Projects, State Marching Band Championships, and the Student Composition Project.
